Along with our state reports, students will be learning our country’s 50 states and their capitals. Many students have been eagerly awaiting this project!
A small list of states will be given to students each week. On Fridays, there will be a quiz. The quiz will include all states up to that point. For example, on Week 3, students will be quizzed on all the states from previous week’s lists along with Week 3. Hopefully, this will help students remember them in the future.
The students will be responsible for learning each state’s capital, abbreviation, and their location on a United States map. Each quiz will count as a Social Studies grade. Also, the states and capitals must be spelled correctly. The quizzes will count as an authentic spelling grade in addition to their spelling tests. There will be a final test where students will have to identify all the capitals of the 50 states and identify each state’s location on a map. I will inform everyone when the final test will take place.
In addition to a new list each week at this website, students will receive a paper copy to study.
